Kaalikesam Waterfalls, Kanyakumari
Kaalikesam Waterfalls is located in the middle of Keeriparai Wildlife Sanctuary in near Thuvarankadu Village, Kanyakumari. The falls are named after a small Kali temple located on the banks of the river. Surrounded by thick forests, the falls are definitely among the best waterfalls in Kanyakumari.
This place is now under forest department control. Need to enter before 3pm to buy entry tickets. There is a hut near ticket counter were you can have lunch with your family. Charging Rs.30 per head and Rs.50 for vehicle. But confirm before planning a trip...might be closed after a tragic incident.
Best place to enjoy with family. Very less crowd. We can feel Fresh air, Crystal clear pure water.
There is no permission to main falls. You can go falls(small small waterflows) without permission and the route to falls was very rough. Water speed was fast and most dangerous to take bath near falls area. No proper way to falls. There is a roadway which is now only allowed for forest officials. Can go by your own risk.
Eco Camp is there. There are facility for stay and to enjoy with play, music and dance. Eco canteen facility is available where you to need book priorly before the trip for food, veg and non-veg options are available for lunch. Need to travel 3 km for Kalikesam temple. Bus facility is also there.
Note: Keep in mind Water force is too strong to swim. Don't even enter the water without knowing swimming. We will find many places to take bath. Some places are deep so be careful and safe. Has a bit of injury risk while walking on the pebbles(small rocks). May be Sudden flash floods are possible so be careful with your family.
