Pulicat or Pazhaverkadu is a historic seashore town in Thiruvallur.Located on the Coromandel Coast, Pulicat is a tiny yet picturesque seashore town in Tamil Nadu. As a prominent Dutch settlement in the seventeenth century, this small town boats of a vibrant and diverse cultural tradition.
Poondi Reservoir or Sathyamoorthy reservoir is the reservoir across Kotralai River in Tiruvallur. It acts as the important water source for Chennai city which is 60 km away.Constructed across the Kosasthalayar river, it has a capacity to store more than 3,000 Mcft water. The construction of the reservoir was conceived and realised by the then mayor of Madras, Sathyamurthy, who was also a freedom fighter.

So he took the Panchamukha form with Hanuman, Hayagriva, Narasimha, Garuda and Varaha faces and extinguished the lamps. Mahiravana was killed immediately.

Thiruvallur Sri Veeraraghava Swamy Temple is a temple dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu, located in Thiruvallur. Sri Veeraraghava Perumal Temple is one of the 108 Vaishnavite Thiruthalams. Goshala Cowshed with cattle raising is practiced. The presiding deity Veera raghava perumal is in a reclining position in the temple. The lord’s right hand is positioned on Salihothra Munivar’s head while the left hand is in the Gyana Mudra position indicating the teaching of the four Vedas to the Lord Brahma.
Dutch Cemetery is situated in Madha Church Street near to Pulicat Bus Stop in Pulicat in Thiruvallur District.The Dutch occupied Pulicat fort in 1609. Pulicat was till 1690 the capital of Dutch Coromandel. The cemetery dating to 1622 has been taken under the wing of the Archaeological department. The cemetery lies behind the market. The Dutch church has been built over several times and is rather dilapidated today, and the Dutch fort has fallen into ruin. The old lighthouse still stands at the opposite bank of the lake.
Bhaktavatsala Perumal Temple is a Vishnu shrine. The Lord is worshipped here as Bhaktavatsala Perumal. This temple is 58th divya desam. It is believed that Bhaktavatsala Perumal appeared in this place to marry Goddess Lakshmi and take her as his consort.
