Mulaipal Theertham is located about 500-800m distance from Annamalayar temple "Pay Gopura" entrance. People beliefs that this theertham made by unnamulaiamman(Goddess Parvati) for rishis and sages who was done penance in arunachala hill.
The water reaches the Mulaipal Theertham through the herbaceous trees, plants and vines on the top of the hill and through the rock. It is also said that this name may have come from the fact that it looks like milk.
