Shri Puri Jagannath Temple, Hyderabad , Banjara Hill , Telengana
Shri Jagannath Temple is situated in Banjara hill, Hyderabad, Telangana. This temple is dedicated to lord krishna. This temple is said that this is a replica of original Jagannath Temple of Puri (Odisha) in context of design. The Temple has been built by Hyderabad odisa community Kalinga Cultural Trust and consecrated in March 2009.
This temple has 2 entrance. One entrance has statue of 2 lions and wonderful arch with vishnu avatar sculptures. Another entrance has statue of 2 tigers and wonderful arch with sculptures. This temple compound wall has lots of vishnu avatar sculpture paintings, Devi Subhadra paintings.
There are few steps to climb to main mantapa. The attracting portion of this temple is its "Shikhara" (mantapa top) measuring around 70 feet in height. The red color of the temple is due to the usage of sandstone (around 600 tonnes were brought from Odisha which is being used to build this whole architecture). There are shrines dedicated to Lakshmi, along with Shiva, Ganesh, Hanuman and Navagrahas. The sanctum sanctorum houses Lord Jagannath along with his siblings, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra.
